Anita Nderu

What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language “{Miuccia Prada} From her bubbly voice to her exquisite smile….plus she is a multitalented lady and inspiration to many but above all today we get to know a little more about her unique taste in fashion and style….as we chit chat with the beautiful Miss Anita Nderu….

1) What inspires your style? I like to stand out of the crowd and I like being dressed in outfits that boost my confidence because I am shy by nature.

2) How can you describe style? Versatile, dramatic at times colorful

3) What is that one particular item/piece you can never miss in your wardrobe or outfit? Cute shoes (smiles lightly)

4) Ever experienced a wardrobe malfunction? If yes then what was it? Yes like a million times! The worst was my dresses zipper split irreparably before I went on stage to Emcee an award show, we had to send for needle and thread cause there was no tailor open and had to have the dress sewn on me to stay put by my makeup artist.

5) Ever been in an impulse buying situation, and afterwards the item purchased you’ve never really used it? Yes whenever there is a sale I come across I tend to pick a whole bunch of things most of which end up not fitting me (sighs)

6) One thing that you can never ever buy or own in terms of fashion trends….Anything too tacky

7) If you were given an opportunity to ban or get rid of one fashion trend….which one would it be and why? Those T-shirts guys wear that go past their knees. If they wanted to be in dress like outfits they should just wear dresses (laughs hysterically)

8) Any fashion /style secret would you like to share…..fashion advice perhaps…..Shop Online! You get cute unique stuff on sale all the time! (Smilingly)

Our Style Star Miss Njeri Kageni

Why change? Everyone has their own style. When you have found it, you should stick to it (Audrey Hepburn)

I got the chance to talk matters on fashion and style plus I learnt a few things from her…today we cross counties to speak to the lovely Miss Njeri Kageni who hails from the beautiful sites of Nakuru County……

  1. How can you describe your style?

I consider myself to be more like a style chameleon, with many different sides but sharing same essence unique, personal, constantly evolving and feminine with an edge

  1. What inspires your style?

How I wake up feeling that particular day. Remember there are really no rules that you need to adhere to when it comes to fashion  just make it your own, make it unique, tell a story and own it. That’s the true essence of a fashion lover.

  1. Which is the most valuable accessory /outfit do you own?

My watch… Not that’s its expensive but because it was a gift from a special person ….my lovely Mum (smiles at her watch)

  1. Ever experienced any wardrobe malfunction?

Not really

  1. If you were given an opportunity to ban or get rid of one fashion trend….which one would it be and why?

Definitely it’s SAGGING! {Laughs} I am a strong proponent of practical fashion and don’t get me wrong, I don’t take comfort over looks. I expect both as I look at fashion as practical art and it has to serve well both visually and functionally.

  1. What is that particular item/piece you can never miss in your wardrobe or outfit?

Lipstick

  1. Any fashion/style secret you would like to share….Any fashion advice

My style secrets add layers to your outfit...

Advice: create your own style instead of copying other people and importantly wearing clothes that fit.

PS

Did you know that Miss Njeri:

Is currently pursuing a journalism degree at the MKU plus she loves travelling, reading and is also involved in volunteer work.

Oooh and she has been nominated for the Vybe City Awards don’t forget to cast your vote link details on (vybe city awards) Miss Nakuru Vybe City Awards

Style is eternal

Style is eternal

From his sense of style….to his music career….you can never mistake one that knows his true identity and is not afraid to show it.

Men with style are great because… they have a sense of self {quote- Lexa Doig} am reminded of this statement as I chit chat on fashion matters with Kagwe Mungai….

How can you describe your style?

My style is eternal a little bit interested in fashion it fades

What inspires your style?

I’m inspired by various different things. From our Kenyan heritage to my experiences with foreign culture .They’ve all contributed to the person that I have become.

Which is the most valuable accessory/outfit do you own?

My smile. Happiness looks gorgeous on anybody

 Ever experienced any wardrobe malfunction?

Wardrobe malfunctions?? What are thoooose?? Lol (laughs hysterically)

If you were given an opportunity to ban or get rid of one fashion trend…which one would it be and why? I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Those tu-suits without sleeves that politicians wear should be a punishable offense. Also not understanding your body type and dressing according to a magazine and not your individuality is a big No-No

What is that particular item/piece you can never miss in your wardrobe or outfit?

It’s always changing. It used to be scarf’s but right now its fresh kicks. I believe you can tell the character/mindset of a man by the shoes he wears. Even H_art the band know ku-uliza kiatu. (Laughs)

Any fashion/style secret you would like to share….Any fashion advice perhaps?

Seek to understand yourself. Once you do your style statements become extensions of your personality. And when you dress for your personality you’re ahead of the pack.

PS

Did you know that?

Kagwe is a Kenyan artist and also a record producer.

You can download his jams on mdundo.com plus watch his latest video Doctor

THE EVOLVING MAN

THE EVOLVING MAN

Fashion is about something that comes from within you…this quote comes to mind when I have an one on one with the fashion guru Bashka the model….

How can you describe your style?

I will start by defining my style in three ways individual, slick and a blend of elegance. I may have clothes that are the same as other people, but I make them totally my own by been creative and make them look best on me. Slick: I always look my very best and that comes naturally (giggles)

A Blend of elegance: Am a mix of timeless style and cutting edge fashion, I mostly dress in suits which defines the elegant in me

Knowledgeable compared to most mindless snobs that happen to surround me, I wear designer clothes because I appreciate the integrity rather than just wearing it cause of its logo

What inspires your style?

My style is inspired by my surrounding and my day to day activities. I am also inspired by the rate at which fashion is growing, so we grow with it

Do you look up to anyone in terms of fashion/ style both locally and internationally?

Internationally I look up to Calvin Klein, Ralph Rucci and Christian Dior....Locally I look up to myself

Ever been in an impulse buying situation, you’ve never used it .If yes then what was it?

Not really at all

You can’t leave the house without?

I can’t leave the house without my watch and belt….It feels naked without them (laughs)

Any fashion/style secret would you like to share? Any fashion advice perhaps

Fashion advice for men is wear something that fits your body……when wearing a suit try to wear a fitting one and if possible make it detailed

One thing that you can never ever buy or own in the name of fashion trends

Baggy jeans, any ragged top or trouser

PS

Did you know that? Bashka is the C.E.O at Radic Agency, an award winning model, models choreographer, events host, a judge in modeling events and a fashion guru.

Social handles Instagram: Bashkathemodel

Men’s fashion is really evolving as days go by and it’s important to recognize their efforts…..I mean would you not appreciate a man in a well tailored suit!?

            Thanks for the read!!
